Why Our Commission Drops to 15% After 1,000 Subscribers
At MoreThanFanz, our goal is simple: creators should keep as much of what they earn as possible — especially as they grow. That’s why we’ve built a commission structure that actively rewards scale. Once a creator reaches 1,000 active subscribers, their platform commission drops to 15%. This post explains why we chose that milestone, what it means in practice, and how it fits into the long-term vision of the platform.

A commission model designed for growth
Most subscription platforms apply the same commission rate at every stage, regardless of whether a creator has 10 subscribers or 10,000. We don’t think that’s fair. Growing and maintaining a large subscriber base takes consistent posting, ongoing fan engagement, marketing effort, and time. Creators who reach 1,000+ subscribers are operating a real business — and the platform should recognise that. Lower commission is our way of doing exactly that.

Why 1,000 subscribers?
1,000 subscribers is a meaningful milestone. At that level, a creator has proven demand for their content, established consistency, a sustainable audience, and ongoing platform usage at scale. It marks the point where creators move from building to operating. That’s why the reduced 15% commission is tied to this threshold — it rewards creators who have demonstrated long-term commitment and success.

How the 15% commission works
The reduced rate applies once the 1,000 subscriber threshold is reached and continues as long as the subscriber count remains at or above that level. There are no hidden increases or surprise changes. The structure is clearly defined and transparent. We don’t believe in moving goalposts.

Why not lower?
We’re often asked why the commission isn’t lower across the board. The honest answer is sustainability. Running a creator platform responsibly means covering payment processing, chargebacks, creator support, compliance, safety systems, infrastructure, development, and moderation. A 15% commission at scale allows us to operate sustainably while continuing to invest in features and support that benefit creators. A platform that can’t sustain itself isn’t good for creators in the long run.

Transparency over hype
Inside MoreThanFanz exists so creators can understand how and why platform decisions are made not just see headline numbers. We don’t believe in hype without explanation. Understanding how commissions evolve as you grow is part of making an informed decision.

Final thoughts
Our commission structure is built around one principle: the more value a creator brings to the platform, the more value they should keep. Dropping to 15% after 1,000 subscribers is one way we put that principle into practice. More updates and explanations will continue to be shared here on InsideMoreThanFanz.
